Deep in the old woodland of Elderfern lives Wisely, the woodland’s beloved Keeper of Traditions.
For more than three hundred years, Wisely has devoted himself to preserving the customs, stories and celebrations of gnome culture. From traditional costumes and ancient ceremonies to music, art and the proper way to celebrate a woodland festival, very little has escaped his careful record keeping.
Whenever Elderfern gathers to celebrate, Wisely is at the heart of it all. He remembers which songs must be sung, which costumes belong to which occasion, and the little customs passed from one generation to the next. To Wisely, traditions are more than old ways — they are the threads that keep a community connected.
After a particularly lively gathering, he can usually be found beside the fire with his favourite cup of warm thistle milk sweetened with just a touch of honey.
Wisely believes that traditions are simply memories we love enough to keep.

Handcrafted in our British Columbia studio, Wisely is nestled within a genuine Pacific oyster shell, finished by hand with our signature gilded edge and suspended from a rich gold ribbon. Naturally irregular in shape, no two shells are ever quite alike, making each Wisely a one-of-a-kind little heirloom to be treasured for Christmases to come.
