My Story 

Welcome to The Gilded Home. Let me introduce myself, my name is Renee and I  have a deep love for beautiful, unique, and handmade creations. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been designing and crafting, drawing inspiration from the natural world around me. From the rugged elegance of oyster shells to the smooth, weathered beauty of sea glass and the timeless warmth of wood — nature’s palette fuels my imagination.

I’m also captivated by the richness of history found in vintage and antique textiles, the intricate art of weaving and embroidery, antique images and the nostalgic charm of retro images. Each element plays a role in shaping the bespoke pieces I create for your home. Every design carries with it a story of care, beauty, and intention.

All of my creations are crafted by hand in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. I’m proud to say that most of the materials I use are natural and sourced locally within Canada. The only exceptions are select European vintage and antique textiles and crystal — treasures with their own rich histories. Importantly, I never bring in oyster shells or other natural materials from abroad. This commitment ensures that every Gilded Home piece reflects the heart and heritage of Western Canada.

I am always up to something, designing and creating.  Most of my inspiration comes from nature and natural materials.  Designing and creating cherished bespoke things for the home moves me and my entire design philosophy.
