Deep in the old woodland of Elderfern, where winding paths disappear beneath ferns and tiny cottage chimneys peek through the trees, lives Ferngully, the woodland’s much-loved cobbler.
A wonderfully jolly fellow, Ferngully spends his mornings in his little cobbler’s cottage, surrounded by wooden lasts, spools of thread and rows of tiny boots waiting to find their owners.
His handmade gnome booties are treasured throughout Elderfern, for Ferngully makes each pair from a very special mushroom leather found only deep within the woodland. Every little boot is cut by hand, carefully stitched and finished with just the tiniest bit of magic......enough, Ferngully says, to make even the longest woodland journey a comfortable one.
By afternoon, however, the cobbler’s cottage often grows suspiciously quiet. Ferngully is enormously fond of his naps and can usually be found snoozing peacefully in his favourite chair and an unfinished little boot resting somewhere nearby.
He firmly believes that good shoes will take you wherever you wish to go...but there is absolutely no reason to hurry getting there.

Handcrafted in our British Columbia studio, Ferngully is nestled within a genuine Pacific oyster shell, finished by hand with our signature gilded edge and suspended from a rich gold ribbon. Naturally irregular in shape, no two shells are ever quite alike, making each Ferngully a one-of-a-kind little heirloom to be treasured for Christmases to come.
