Deep in the old woodland of Elderfern lives Clarence, the youngest of the woodland gnomes at just one hundred years of age.
Clarence is an adventurer at heart. Endlessly curious and always dreaming of what might lie beyond the next bend in the path, he loves exploring every corner of Elderfern ...........and occasionally wandering well beyond it.
Sometimes Clarence disappears for days at a time, sleeping beneath the stars, swimming in cool woodland streams and following trails simply to discover where they lead. He has been known to walk alongside the forest deer, stop for long conversations with the owls and lose an entire afternoon listening to the stories of creatures he meets along the way.
A great dreamer, Clarence is fascinated by faraway places and loves learning new languages, collecting unusual words and bringing home stories from his travels.
Eventually, though, the familiar paths of Elderfern always call him home. Clarence believes the very best adventures begin when you don’t quite know where you’re going.
Clarence would be delighted to find a little place in your holiday home, hanging from the Christmas tree, tucked amongst a garland or nestled into a favourite holiday wreath.
Handcrafted in our British Columbia studio, Clarence is nestled within a genuine Pacific oyster shell, finished by hand with our signature gilded edge and suspended from a rich gold ribbon. Naturally irregular in shape, no two shells are ever quite alike, making each Clarence a one-of-a-kind little heirloom to be treasured for Christmases to come.
